Kindling - your questions answered
Looking for a great value steak dinner in Brighton? We’ve got you! We've compiled a handy list of FAQs to answer all your burning questions before you visit.
How do I book a table at Kindling?
We recommend making a reservation beforehand. You can book online or call the restaurant directly. Please note that we cannot currently reserve outdoor seating.
What is your bookings and cancellations policy?
All our bookings are made using OpenTable, and we require card details for all of them.
No-shows and late cancellations can be charged £10 per person. We have a 15-minute grace period, so please let us know if you are running late to avoid any complications with your booking.
What are your opening hours?
We’re open seven days a week 12 noon to 10pm.
Why do I need to give my card details when booking?
We do require card details for all bookings. This ensures that the table is booked for a real customer and not being booked and re-sold or double booked. This also ensures that “no-shows” are less likely to happen and the limited space available is used to its full potential for our dining customers. We do not store or see the card details you enter while booking using OpenTable (via Stripe).
More details and information are available from OpenTable when making a booking.
How do I cancel or change my reservation?
You can easily change or amend your reservation through your Opentable confirmation email. You can find out more here.
How do I make a large group booking?
You can book a table for parties of up to 12 on Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays, the group bookings are limited to 6 people.
Give us a call or email us to discuss your group booking needs.
How do I find out about special offers at Kindling?
Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on facebook or Instagram to be the first to learn about special offers and promotions at Kindling.
Do you offer discounts for fellow hospitality workers?
Yes! Mondays are industry nights at Kindling. Anyone working in hospitality can get 20% off their full bill.
A recent payslip or another proof of working in hospitality is required. Excludes bank holidays.
Do you accept cash payments?
We accept all major credit cards, and for your convenience, cash is also welcome.
Is there a dress code?
Kindling has a casual, laid-back atmosphere with no specific dress code.
What’s an open kitchen?
Kindling is a small restaurant with an open kitchen in the middle. We want all of our customers to enjoy our food using all of their senses.
I’m having a special occasion. Can I bring a cake?
We'd be delighted to be part of your celebration! Feel free to bring a cake to make your special occasion even sweeter. Please just let our team know beforehand.
Do you serve Sunday roasts?
Consider your Sunday lunch sorted! Our roasts come as a sharer for two, and feature a 450g dry-aged Cote de Boeuf cooked over a live fire for that irresistible smoky goodness, crispy duck fat rosemary roast potatoes, heritage maple-roasted carrots, a giant Yorkshire, char-grilled hispi cabbage and, of course, rich red wine & onion gravy to drizzle over it all. We might be biased, but we think this must be one of the best roasts in Brighton!
Our roasts are available all day on Sundays alongside our regular menu.
Is your meat halal?
No, our meat is not halal.
Do you cater for Vegans and Vegetarians?
While our speciality is steak, we also offer delicious vegetarian and vegan options.
Where can I find allergen information?
If you need specific allergen information, please ask our staff upon arrival. The printed menus include all dietary information.
Are dogs allowed in the restaurant?
Absolutely! We're paw-sitive your pup will love a Brighton outing, and Kindling welcomes well-behaved dogs. Please mention you’re bringing a dog when booking as there is only a limited space in the restaurant where we can sit you with a dog.
Is Kindling child-friendly?
We love hosting family dinners and lunches. We have a dedicated kids’ menu for children under 10, and our friendly staff can help guide you towards options that will please the little ones. Highchairs are also available upon request.
Is your restaurant accessible?
We have a wheelchair-accessible entrance, but unfortunately due to the way the building is laid out, we do not have wheelchair-accessible toilets (they are situated at the back of the restaurant, on the mezzanine level, separated from the dining room by a set of stairs).
Do you sell gift cards?
Looking for the perfect present? We offer gift cards, the ideal option for any steak lover!
We hope this answers all your questions. If you have anything else to ask, don't hesitate to contact our friendly team.
